    • Sydney Motorway Corporation

      Aug 2016 - Oct 2017
      Senior Project Manager - Construction

At SMC, I worked on the New M5 and as the Senior Project Manager responsible for the delivery of the St Peter’s Interchange (SPI) and the SPI Cut and Cover Structure. SPI is a four level motorway interchange consisting of nine balanced cantilever box girder bridges built within the former Alexandria landfill site. The location, being a former landfill, proposed many challenges to both design and construction, requiring extensive ground improvements, landfill closure, leachate and methane collections systems and the adoption of structural and utility designs and construction methods, which deviated from standard practice. Some interesting aspects included:• Segmental cased bored piles;• Piled pavements using driven piles and in-situ cast concrete deck (across the landfill site);• Rapid impact compaction (RIC);• Concrete injected columns (CIC);• Surcharging;• Vertical Barrier wall (Bentonite slurry wall); and • Utility bridges with CFA piles to project critical infrastructure (desalination pipeline).I was responsible for ensuring the contractors compliance with the Design & Construction Deed, that designs meet the Scope of Works and Technical Criteria (SWTC) and the Ministers Conditions of Approval (MCoA). My role included liaising with all stakeholder including Roads and Maritime Service, Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) and our internal technical team. Show less
