I am part of af team of Engineering senior leaders who are responsible for driving acommon approach to every phase of developing and sustaining products across the regions. We have global technical ownership including technology strategy and technical roadmaps in the platform and must ensure technical integrity of the platform with significant commonality and synergy across multiple regionsPrimary technical liaison to Product ManagementSupport and lead the teams in Brazil, Spain, France, Russia, India, China, Korea and Japan for global applications up to a certain load and speed. Mostrar menos My main current function is being the Program Manager for the construction, commissioning and production transfer of a new factory in San Sebastian (Spain) I provide support to the three Otis factories in Spain (Madrid, San Sebastian and Vigo). I work with the local Industrial Engineering teams helping in the industrialization of new products. I propose and oversee machinery investments, actively participating in the purchasing process and negotiations when needed. I am in charge of the definition and analysis of all capital investments for the three factories.I am a member of the UTC Commercial Advanced/Additive Mfg. Council, a team made of people from the different non-aerospace divisions of UTC working in the potential implementation of additive manufacturing in regular manufacturing operationsI participate in Changes Control Boards and Quality Review Boards of global products and projects. Mostrar menos My main current function was being the Program Manager for the construction, commissioning and production transfer of a new factory in San Sebastian (Spain) My regular function was to provide support to the three Otis factories in Spain (Madrid, San Sebastian and Vigo). I cooperated with the local Industrial Engineering teams helping in the industrialization of new products. I proposed and oversaw machinery investments actively participating in the purchasing process and negotiations when needed. I was in charge of the definition and analysis of all capital investments for the three factories.I was a member of the UTC Commercial Advanced/Additive Mfg. Council, a team made of people from the different non-aerospace divisions of UTC working in the potential implementation of additive manufacturing in regular manufacturing operations. Formo parte de varios “Changes Control Boards” y “Quality Review Boards” de productos y proyectos mundialesFor a bit over three and a half years I led the Otis Engineering Center in Madrid, Spain. The department have worldwide design responsibility for several elevator components; traction machines and safety components,I was (and still I am) a participant in several Quality Review Boards and Changes Control Boards of different components and projects.Apart from releasing several products and bringing substantial cost reduction into the products under our responsibility, in this period I successfully worked in the implementation of in-house rapid prototyping, improved modelling and simullation capabilities of the team and initiated a fruitful cooperation with the local University (UC3M)I have had some public exposure as well, I was a speaker at two additive manufacturing events in Madridhttp://www.3dprintingevent.com/andres-monzon-presents-additive-manufacturing-applications-companies-3d-printing-event/http://integralplm.com/es/3d-printshow-madrid-2015/I was also asked to introduce a new product to a local TV channelhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrua4gw7-Ug Mostrar menos During this period I worked as Program Manager for several strategic development programs of both elevator systems and components reporting directly to the Southern European and Middle East manufacturing manager..Normally the programs I have worked in are multinational ones with the participation of the companies in France, Germany, Italy and the United States-based World headquarters.I have been involved in the development of synchronous permanent magnet machines, space and cost-efficient elevator systems for residential markets and the application of regenerative drives in elevators. In this period the functions I have performed are the control of the different projects including presenting the status of the projects during the different program gate reviews to the Technical and Executive Review Boards at the company headquarters. I have had direct participation in the definition of system architectures, safety elements and procedures, patent creation and in the testing and verification of prototypes, pre-series and pilot units both in testing environments and in the fieldThe programs I have worked on have been very successful, bringing multi-million benefits to the Company. Some of the products have been tech- transferred for production to other Otis factories in France, Brazil, China and India.I would also like to remark my participation in three worldwide Cost Benchmarking sessions held at Otis Manufacturing facilities in Japan (June 2004), United States (April 2005) and India (December 2005). I attended these sessions as a technical expert in cost efficient elevator systems and team leader in order to find cost reduction opportunities and set cost targets accordingly.I have participated in several worldwide brainstorming sessions to define elevator system architectures for future developments.During the period I coached several young engineers as well. Mostrar menos Functions: Coordination and follow up of quality product problems at the Otis Spain factories in San Sebastian (Machines and Safety Components) and Madrid (complete elevator systems). Field investigation of quality problems in jobsites and installations worldwide. Product support. Design of prototypes and new product proofs of concept Amongst the tasks performed during this period I would point out the following: -Field technical assistance and customer problem investigation in worldwide locations: China, Dubai, Sweden, Italy, Germany, Austria, The Netherlands, Turkey,…-Definition, supplier negotiation, installation and start -up of four machine vibration verification lines at the Otis factory in San Sebastian Mostrar menos

A big learning experience in any case.In this brief period I was the Director of the Spanish R&D department of a big European Elevator company. I reported directly to the Engineering and R&D Director of the Europe-Africa unit. The department has responsibility on the design of residential market elevator systems, elevator cars, controllers, and safety components Mostrar menos
