      Historical Interpreter Volunteer

      As an Historical Interpreter volunteer, my responsibilities were to assist the senior Interpreters in their education demonstrations. This involved dressing in historical clothing (in my case, as a French soldier from the time of 1746) and interacting with the public through the displays and demonstrations, explaining and educating the public on ideas ranging from the weaponry of the battle to the medical procedures of the time.

      A summer apprenticeship at a local groundworks company, working at sites in Beauly, Ardgour and Strontian that varied from single housing projects to Scottish Government funded council houses. This job involved a variety of different roles ranging from assisting with underground pipe work to housing foundations as well as general assisting more senior personal on site.

      While with Solar Cities Scotland (S.C.S). I assisted on a project of surveying and mapping the Whitfield, Fintry and West End areas of Dundee. This included creating a database of the housing within these area's which was to be used as part of their infra-red and monitor schemes. I also attended and worked at several promotional events for the group within the city such as the University of Dundee Volunteers fayre and talked to groups such as the Dundee Pensioner's Forum.

      As a Customer Team Member (CTM), my responsibilities ranged from providing a high level of customer service, both on the tills and on the shop floor, to further reduction pricing and waste management of produce. On the tills, I served customers with a personal and happy attitude, serving their needs. With this role, I was also tasked with the Company's "Challenge 25" Policy for age restricted items. On the Shop Floor I was tasked to restock items and set up stands for promotional items. The further reductions and waste management aspect of my job required me to reduce the pricing of produce which were nearing expiry and safely remove produce that had past their sell by date.
