      Supervising the children’s waiting room, at the Los Angeles County Court, Compton location. The position was both challenging and rewarding. The intensity of many of the cases required patience, compassion, empathy, and confidentiality. My overall responsibilities consisted of intake, various administrative tasks, preparation of official court documents (involving subpoenas and/or or custody changes), snack preparation, circle time, art and crafts, cleaning toys (between sessions), and providing a monthly newsletter to circulate throughout Los Angeles County Courts. The main objective was to ensure an emotionally safe environment for young children. It was of the upmost importance to foster an environment that honor and affirmed the whole child. Regardless of their social status, all children registered would have immense fun, in a safe and nurturing atmosphere. Show less
