  While interning with Reliance Industries I got to experience the theoretical concepts of hydraulic machines for the first time practically. I got to know many things about maintenance and turnaround maintenance. I understood what operations were and was much more interested in getting to know the process flow and the work flow in an industry. I saw employees working as end users on SAP in PM and MM module. Managing materials, manpower, inventory and prioritising tasks were the major take aways other than technical aspects. Show less

  Interning and training at L&T was a wholesome experience. The experience that i had in the heavy manufacturing site of Hazira was quite knowledgeable. I got the experience of reading a design/drawing and trying to figure out every manufacturing process going on in site was quite good. I got to know the core domain of mechanical engineering and lots of theoretical knowledge i used to relate with the practical work going on there.

  Actively responsible for planning and execution of general plant maintenance and related activities. Supervise mechanical maintenance tasks to ensure quality and timely completion as per planning. Mobilize resources for day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities. Executing preventive maintenance of mechanical rotary/static equipment as per PM schedule. Carry out LLF as per plan. Periodically monitoring the condition of equipment & driving advance maintenance initiative to avert major breakdowns and improving the reliability. Administering daily, weekly & shut down job planning including manpower planning, contractor mobilization, preparation of scope of work and service PR. Involved in all types of field maintenance jobs including Equipment trouble shooting, Equipment erection, piping erection, online sealing, Alignment of pumps and gearbox. Continuous monitoring of the Inventory consumption and raising new purchase requisitions as per the estimated demand. Working as an end user for SAP system application especially PM and MM module and dealing with Orders, Notification, Preventive Maintenance, BOM, PR & E-permit. Show less GET period in reliance is often termed as honeymoon period where there is this smooth transition from college life to plant/site life. Initially there was focus on development of various soft skills and process knowledge. We were taught about the history of industry and what all processes are carried out here. Working on material management, SAP , people management, inventory distribution and management are some of the many skills that we were taught.Our theoretical knowledge was tested and a practical approach was shown. Training occurred in various stages with a test carried out to check our understanding. Safety norms were taught and we were made aware about different hazards and risks in our area. Show less
