As part of my non-Japanese language courses, I have researched a variety of topics relating to the economical and socio-political issues in Japan, as well as in other East Asian countries. I have consolidated my research into essays and presentations, which has greatly improved my writing and communication abilities. As part of my final year studies, I produced a dissertation on the current environment for Syrian refugees in Japan, evaluating the Japanese government's response to the crisis and the factors that both led to that response and stem from it.
