      I restructured and updated the website of the German Embassy of Vientiane in accordance with the requirements established by the IT-department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Berlin. I received a brief introduction training into CoreMedia based on open standard software and then had to build up further knowledge and solve problems self-sufficiently by consulting user manuals. After analyzing the existing website and researching comparable websites and applications I developed and presented a new layout and proposed relevant information to be included. I was tasked to restructure the website in order to provide a user friendly platform for both German and Lao users. At the same time the platform had to be easy to maintain with existing resources and expertise at the embassy. For this task I reviewed other websites, made decisions on relevance, included modules provided by the IT-department and set up appropriate external links. I also set up the pages design layout including selection and uploading of pictures. All this was conducted remotely, bases in the German embassy in Bangkok. Finally I produced a step-by-step manual for the website maintenance person at the embassy and gave remote coaching by telephone and online. Working language were German and English.My achievements in this assignment include a full functioning website for the embassy using new software and related support material and capacity development.
