      Assistant Principal

Kenwood Academy is a large, comprehensive neighborhood school serving grades 7-12 in Chicago's Hyde Park Community. Our school-based administrative team led school to top rating according to School Performance Policy (improvements in all performance metrics) and has been highlighted nationally and world-wide. I developed and managed the Pre college program and Advanced Placement program (doubled student enrollment and success in college and AP courses). I also worked alongside the University of Chicago, Network for College Success, to implement Cycles of Professional learning at the school level. I established an Instructional Framework focusing on disciplinary literacy which improved student writing and led to an increase in number of students eligible for college courses. Using the Danielson Framework I evaluated and supported teachers and staff. I was the lead for management National grants and for National Accreditation process. Show less
