IPPC Global Project Lead - Strategic Purchasing

IPPC is a global project on the Atlas Copco group level. It stands for "Indirect Purchasing for Product Companies", but it also includes Distribution Centers. The main goal for the IPPC project is to find synergies and ways to consolidate spending volumes within specific commodities (or categories) across Divisional and Business Area borders. By identifying these synergies and consolidations the project members can significantly reduce total cost within each commodity. My responsibility in the project is currently to be the Sourcing Lead for one of the commodities, Engineering Consultants. I am the driver for this "sub project" from start to end through the seven-step Purchasing Model. Together with smaller CFTs, Cross Functional Teams, from many sites throughout the company, we do an extensive data analysis of current situation which generates a category profile. Based on this profile together with market information and other valuable information from the CFTs, we then create a strategy for how to approach the suppliers and also how to approach the challenges we face internally. Further, I also act as the coordinator within the IPPC project for my Business Area. This task consists mainly of supporting the IPPC Project manager in monitoring progress in the different commodities within my Business Area, coordinating activities between Business Areas, and following up the outcome for each commodity per Business Area and Division. Global Lead Buyer, Key Suppliers & Key Categories

The mission and ambition of my role is to develop and build-up a global key suppliers base within certain focus categories. The focus categories will of course change over time, but for the moment I will start with four areas (I leave them out of this text for security reasons…).In my role, my main tasks are (amongst many others) to support the overall product portfolio and the global Purchasing strategy to achieve efficiency and growth; I will create, lead and develop the strategy for the global suppliers base which supply our Distribution Centers in Sweden, China, and USA; I will support global development projects and integration of global suppliers in the product development process; I will actively drive standardization and modularization within the focus categories; I will be an active member of the division’s Purchasing Council; I will cooperate with other divisions within the company to optimize the way we do things, and take advantage of economy-of-scale effects in our sourcing activities.Furthermore, I will secure that the global key suppliers base fulfil the high corporate governance standards (including environmental and ethical standards) of the Atlas Copco group, and also safeguard a stable and positive development of the Total Cost including (but not limited to) quality, delivery and cost-parameters.Activities within my role:• Assessment of current spending (what is bought, where, at what prices)• Assessment of the supply market (who offers what)• Total cost analyses (how much does it cost to provide those goods or services)• Identification of suitable suppliers• Development of a sourcing strategy (where to purchase, considering demand and supply situations, while minimizing risk and costs)• Negotiation with suppliers (products, service levels, prices, geographical coverage, payment terms, etc.)• Implementation of new supply structure• Track results and restart assessment (continuous cycle) Show less
