Forward Works Program Development – Major Roads Project Authority (VicRoads), Melbourne, Australia.Pavement models were established in Decision Support Tools (DST), including Highway Development and Management, version 4 (HDM4) and Deighton Total Infrastructure Management System (dTIMS). The DSTs were used to calculate long-term forward works programs that achieve (and sustain achievement of) target performance for the minimum whole-of-life cost. Models were established for the: Western Roads Upgrade, Northern Roads Upgrade and South Eastern Roads upgrade. For each road network, tasks included: • Data quality assurance• Establishment of a data representation of the road network from disparet data sets.• The use of historical data to calculate real life deterioration rates, per homogeneous section type.• Establishment of work improvement effects per treatment type, based on actual condition change observed from pre and post treatment condition data.• Implementation of decision support tools (HDM4 and dTIMS) to develop optimum long-term pavement forward works programs• Definition of an optimal maintenance intervention / treatment strategy to achieve contractual performance targets.• pavement structural deflection, and identify locations for heavy patching.• Video and field validation of proposed forward works program.• Scoping of works.Decision Support Tool specification – Brisbane Airport Cooperation, Brisbane, Australia.A specification was developed to procure a decision support tool for the management of airport: runways and roads (flexible and rigid pavement).A review of the asset management practices completed on the Eastlink Motorway was completed, including:• ISO55001 benchmarking, maturity evaluation, gap analysis and improvement action plan• Development of strategies to:• Satisfy performance in key result areas• Prepare condition based capital replacement and renewal plans• Comply with handback performance requirements.
