Inc also is known as 3C, is an on-demand service platform that connects small scale concrete contractors with local ready-mix concrete manufacturers by using their live location to deliver the ready-mix concrete within 1.5 hours for their driveway, patio, steps, etc.3C is headquartered in the city of Hamilton and Incorporated in the Province of Ontario. The company is co-founded by 5 entrepreneurship students of McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada who have significant experience in the construction industry. To match the experience with enthusiasm of youth, 3C has assembled advisors to provide expertise in the construction industry and in website development. The advisors are:1. Dr. Kevin Browne–Professor, Computer Networking–Mohawk College, CanadaService by 3C:Concrete is a perishable product and if the delivery is not done within the time frame of 1.5 hours, it will start losing its mechanical properties. Today, the biggest problem the contractors face is the availability of concrete to their construction site based on their location and work schedule. The contractors have to search for the availability of local manufacturers, calculate the concrete required, contact them, negotiate for the quotations and then order the products which result in an undesired project delay. At present, the manufacturers face a 30% idle manufacturing capacity due to the competition from large market players. Furthermore, the industry is slow in digitization, which results in taking orders by phone. Hence, an on-demand service platform like 3C which provides ready mix concrete for contractors by assisting them in the selection, calculation, and delivery of RMC from local manufacturers will prove to be a sustainable business idea.
