  As the Records Officer, I have oversight for the facility-wide records management program at all VA Pittsburgh Health Care System sites.I oversee facility wide policies and procedures in accordance with VA and VHA policy, National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) and other applicable federal laws and regulations. I coordinate with service line Records Liaisons and management to assure the policy and plan is implemented. I conduct focused monitors and audits of records created and maintained by service lines on a quarterly basis.My responsibilities include regular interdisciplinary records management meetings and participate in other facility committees, like Environment of Care rounds, to monitor document storage and compliance. This allows me to Identify and report problems and deficiencies in records management by each service line for corrective action. I oversee a Records Management Sharepoint site, accessible to all Liaisons and management to assist in providing as much guidance and access to required documentation as possible. The site includes links to the Records Center & Vault, Nara, FRC tool kits, and various other record control sites. There is also includes a wide variety of documents needed to perform record liaison duties as well as Liaison rosters, instructional Power Point presentations and newly created database that houses all record added to their record plans.My training provides ongoing general and/or program specific training to medical center staff and Liaisons related to records management. I educate Liaisons about the records management program and their respective responsibilities in carrying out the records management program based on current statutes and standards. Show less
