  As a Higher Statistical Officer at the Department for Education, I have spearheaded the development of two key applications using Power Apps, seamlessly integrating SQL, Power Automate components, and R pipelines for data wrangling. I manage the end-to-end process, from gathering requirements and user engagement to designing, developing, and deploying all elements of these applications. My ongoing responsibilities include providing support and implementing new features to enhance functionality. Both apps provide the policy leads the ability to amend various components of the app without having to delve into our SQL databases.One of the apps, designed for strategic conversations, enables users to select trusts, schedule meetings, and attach relevant notes and documents. This app generates vital reports that track policy progress. The second app automates the weekly identification of academies meeting the policy criteria for warning notices, featuring an R component that scans for published notices online, ensuring timely publication and removal.In my role, I have automated most of the necessary data wrangling using R and am responsible for sharing weekly Ofsted outcome data for schools, driving efficiency and accuracy in our reporting processes. Show less As a Higher Executive Officer (HEO) Data Analyst at the Department for Education, I was responsible for intervention reporting, quality assurance, and various other critical tasks. I developed a Power Automate flow that processed incoming emails to our mailbox, extracting data from our database, which significantly reduced the time required to manage our inbox from a full-time role to just a few minutes per day, allowing team members to be redeployed to other areas in need. This automation included built-in quality checks and failure points to prevent the generation of incorrect emails.
