      I worked at the National Board of Antiquities for several period. First my job was to organize and catalogue a collection of bricks, update the database and prepare an exhibition of the bricks both in the storage facilities and in the web. Later I planned, edited, created content to and technically implemented a website (Tiilen historiaa Suomessa - History of Brick in Finland) based on the brick collection. My work included also the complementing of an object database and conservation issues. In addition I took part in the planning and development of a collection management system.The final part (2005) of my work was to plan, edit and technically implement another website, Kurkistuksia Helsingin kujille (Pekks into the Alleys of Helsinki) introducing urban archaeology in Helsinki. Later, as a practitioner, I continued working on website updating projects for the NBA. Show less

      As practitioner my main fields of work were Web Designing and Conservation issues. I designed and carried out, also updated websites for several organizations. For example I continued working on the website "Suomen Rautakauden esineistö" for the Archaeology Department in the University of Helsinki.I also carried out conservation projects such as researching historic color layers in houses and the conservation of wall paper in the Cygnaeus gallery.

      In my current position I'm closely involved with the Finna service (www.finna.fi), which brings together the collections of Finnish archives, libraries and museums. I'm responsible especially for the content providing Finnish museums, listening to and taking forward their and their users' needs, and facilitating collaboration between stakeholders.Chair for the Finnish National Library's Sustainable Development Working Group since 2020. In the context of the Finna-services, I am very interested in how the digital transition of the cultural heritage field can be achieved in a sustainable way, by supporting the green transition.
