Treasurer and secretary for the Beachburg Volunteer Firefighters Association, four years, whose mandate was to provide public education and fund raising for equipment that was outside the townships' mandate or budget. Local school education representative, attending local grade school in firefighting gear to teach children about fire fighters, what we do and how to be safe at home, both in planning for a fire and during one. Regular yearly duties included canvassing an area of over 500 square kilometers for smoke alarm operation and citizen safety and awareness.
