  I taught multiple sections of Psychopharmacology and Physiological and Comparative Psychology. I used a writing intensive format, a collaborative learning environment, and active learning strategies to promote deep learning of course content and development of important transferable skills to prepare students to enter the workforce. I was nominated for an Excellence in Teaching award and received an Outstanding Teaching Assistant award from the University of Georgia in recognition of my high-impact and exceptional teaching practices. Show less My dissertation research was on the neuropeptide galanin and the neural underpinnings of the comorbidity of chronic inflammatory pain and depression. I have extensive experience with research design; working with a rodent model; testing animal behavior; performing neuropharmacological techniques, ELISA, and HPLC for neurotransmitters; data management, analysis, and visualization; and scientific writing. In addition to completing dissertation work, I managed all aspects of laboratory function including cleaning and organizing the lab, ordering supplies, chemical and waste management, and radiation safety.I was also responsible for training and supervising all laboratory personnel, including undergraduate research assistants and rotating graduate students.
