      Server

This was my first job right when I turned 16. I began as a host and through the years worked my way up and became a server. Being a server taught me many valuable qualities, including time management and efficiency, the ability to multitask, and how to handle situations. I loved the fast paced environment as well as the challenge of it.

    • University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner College of Business

      Jan 2016 - May 2019

This position is the same as a P.A.C.E. Leader (the job listed below), I now manage the P.A.C.E. Leaders. This position requires me to make announcements and send emails with reminders/updates to all of the Leaders to ensure their students are on the right track to succeed in the course. I interact with all teams and answer any questions they may have or to step in and help if for any reason the P.A.C.E. Leader cannot attend the session to make sure no momentum is lost. Finally, I also help with any grading that may be done, as well as attending all exam days to collect the answer sheets at the end and get them to the appropriate place. Show less As a P.A.C.E. Leader, I work in a class called Business Foundations. In this class the students work on what is known as their Big Idea Projects which is them creating a business plan. The project has them detail each part to make their business function, like accounting, management and so on. I work as a mentor; helping the students not only with the project but deciding their major/minor. I answer questions about the project but also about the College of Business and what it is like at the University of Cincinnati. I really enjoy this job because business is constantly changing and evolving so being in this position gives me the opportunity to keep learning new things. I have since learned qualities like patience, management skills, communication and creativity go a long way when working in difficult business situations. Show less

      Seasonal Sales Associate

Although I was only a seasonal employee, I still learned so much about sales and customer service. Communication was huge because if you ask the right questions and get them talking about their needs, most of the time they then talk about the things they want which leads to buying more products. Aside from just the sales, I loved the interaction I got to have with the customers. The company is very customer oriented, so giving them that personal experience of having all the attention on them to fix their problems or fulfill their needs really made it a positive environment and a very fun place to gain more experience. With this position I had the responsibilities of handling money, providing excellent customer service, and stocking merchandise. Being a beauty advisor helped me grow my customer service skills while also helping me gain more knowledge on the aspect of sales.
