  Melissa is the newest member of the Humphries Weaving team and has a First Class Honours Degree in Textile Design from De Montfort University, Leicester; recognised as a leading creative university with strong industry links. She joins Humphries Weaving from the luxury automotive market where she created bespoke textile products for clients such as Ferrari, Rolls Royce and Mclaren.Melissa brings to her role strong organisational skills and attention to detail and is currently undertaking extensive training in historic textiles, encompassing; period, style, colour, design and construction. This also involves learning the complex design system and technical application of weave and fabric construction.“I have had the opportunity to visit properties such as Hampton Court Palace, Windsor Castle, Chatsworth House and Belton House to study the fabrics we have produced. Seeing how textiles play such a big part in giving a house identity and character is fascinating.”Alongside her training Melissa has responsibility for fabric archiving and the day-to-day marketing and social media activity of the business.
