Supervised junior reporters, created all departmental support documentation for staff and students, and acted as documentation specialist on several long-term committees. Instrumental in creation of the Academic Technology Support Center, and conducted all seminars on WebCT/Blackboard content management system. Administrator of WebCT server for staff and student accounts. Answered computer support requests via phone and e-mail. Supervisor of a graduate technology lab in which students asked for help on a variety of topics, such as formatting documents, e-submission, and for Teaching Assistants, how to take their classroom content and convert it into an online course, then using WebCT. Responsible for adding WebCT student and professor accounts, fixing various hardware and print queue problems, rescuing data from corrupted disks, and in some cases, helping students as editor. Responsible for incoming calls, walk-ups, and office visits to correct computer issues on a wide variety of platforms, from Windows to VMS/VAX. Position was in the largest computer lab on campus, serving 30,000 staff, students, and professors. Operation was 24/7, so covered a lot of overnight shifts. Responsible for walking the lab as well, noticing students with problems and helping them to resolve them quickly.
