  While I worked at Quiznos, I would make sandwiches, deep clean the restaurant, run the cash register, train new employees, wash dishes, prepare and cut the food, and serve the customers. Most of the time that I was employed at Quiznos, I was one of the two people working at that specific time, so I got a feel of how to run the restaurant as well as how to handle the customers. Whether I was by myself in the front, of stocking in the back, I learned the importance of teamwork and how to communicate with the customers and with the employees, which started my love for people in general.   Customer Service is a priority to Deerfield. As a server, I would help prepare the food, take orders, train new employees, set and re-set tables as well as the dinning room, deep clean the kitchen and dinning room, host parties and other various other tasks. The main priority is to keep the residents as happy as possible and provide a safe, reliable workplace.

  Waukee APEX provides high schoolers the opportunity to dive into different aspects of the medical field at an early age. We are able to get a better understanding of what we wish to do with our futures as we explore different types of medicine. Through the various projects and job shadows that we accomplish, we are able to dip our feet into the vast unknown so that we have a better grasp of who we are and where we want to go before entering college.

  Through Waukee High School I was able to enroll in a program called school-to-work where I obtained an internship at Iowa Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center. I am able to work towards my goal of submersing myself in the medical field so that I can gain as many experiences as possible with a variety of medical professions. I work with medical records, work at the front desk, file patient forms, and preform a variety of other tasks to familiarize myself with how a physician office maintains a professional structure.
