      Project Manager

I received my appointment to this position 4 months into the contract. After my initial cold eye review I introduced daily in-house coordination meetings, reissued all test packs based on project priority requirements, implemented a formal written fabrication request system to reduce waste, reorganised the QA/QC reporting structure, arranged construction of suitable temporary storage facilities, ensured material was packed according to specification requirements, introduced a detailed progress reporting system which brought the progress reporting and subsequent billing up to date. Coatings Superintendant

Located in Bai Rai province 45 minutes outside of Vaug Tau , Vietnam. Major scope on BP’s Nam Con Som Gas Plant Project included the onsite blasting and coating of twelve, 42 inch diameter, 250 meter long, slug catcher fingers and header pipe with a 75 micron primer followed by 400 microns of glass flake, final coat being 100 microns of polyurethane on 24m long double random lengths of pipe. This critical task was performed utilising a mobile blast furnace with shot recycling capabilities and 100 meters of covered and inclined rail track. In collaboration with the Piping Superintend, we performed a full piping take off from the Isometric drawings. All random lengths of pipe and valves were then segregated into defined paint code requirements and pre-coated prior to spools being fabricated in order to reduce construction time, whilst minimising the impact of blasting in situ, resulting in only moderate field touch-up requirements through to completion. Numerous tanks also required coatings and linings with all internal linings and underground piping being 100% holiday tested. Show less

      Operations Manager

During my employment in Thailand I was at the forefront of Cape’s operations and commercial management, leading the business unit in over a decade of year on year double digit growth. This was achieved by implementing productivity improvements, IR initiatives, skills and competency training programmes, waste reduction control measures, formal written fabrication and material maintenance procedures, diversifying approved supplier lines, comprehensive procurement procedure revamping, savvy competitive bidding process and continuous proactive customer relationship management.Under my direction the business unit direct workforce increased from 170 to over 1,300 full time employees, surpassed 5,000,000 man-hours without lost time injuries and frequently utilized over 90% of the circa 10,000 tonne scaffold materials inventory whilst simultaneously completing numerous major world class projects on time, within budget and without punch lists or warranty claims. • PREZIOSO

      Oct 2002 - Dec 2002
      Project Manager

My primary role for this position was to expedite the fabrication and installation of the Cryogenic and Heat Conservation Insulation prior to operational startup. Due to the complex nature of the BP Offshore insulation specification, the high cost of imported materials, short time frame and limited number of experienced local insulation applicators, several specific training programmes were initiated. This involved hasty mobilization of material manufactures representatives from ULVA, Pittsburgh Corning and Armorflex being flown in to provide specific professional development, fabrication and installation training to operatives which ultimately ensured full specification compliance. Timely quality completion was achieved, including a 25% increase in work scope. My secondary role with Prezioso was the completion of installation of 5000m2 of intumescent and cementitious Passive Fire Protection to the slug catcher header, vessel skirts and structural steel, completion of coatings applications and final sign off by owner.
