Manufacture of steam turbine components in small batch quantities within a manufacturing cell and working as a team to make parts from raw material to finished items.Work to tight tolerances in various materials.Machines operated include manual lathes, milling machines, radial arm and pedestal drills, surface and cylindrical grinding machines and a CNC turn mill machine.Self inspection of conponents. Skills in milling, turning, fitting and CNC machining were achieved to standards set by the Engineering Training Board (EITB).During block release to college, qualifications in mechanical engineering were obtained to BTEC ONC and HNC standard.
