  Turtle Conservation Volunteer

  For 7 months I volunteered at a turtle conservation on Nusa Penida, Bali. There we focused on the increasing the turtle population in the ocean. The turtles health and growth was top priority, with the aim to release them into the ocean at an age of 6 months to 1 year. Through this we helped increase their survival chances from 10% to 80% when being released into the ocean. Daily tasks included feeding and cleaning turtles as well as maintaining a healthy environment for them. Furthermore Marketing though billboards was conducted to raise awareness within the local community about plastic pollution. I coordinated and led short term volunteers with their work and extra needs, becoming a spokesperson for the team. In addition, I helped care for sick turtles within the conservation. Show less

  Elephant Sanctuary Volunteer

  For 2 months I volunteered at a elephant sanctuary in Thailand. Daily work focused on providing a safe and healthy environment for domesticated and abused elephants. From 6:30 a.m until 17:00 p.m we worked on feeding and cleaning the elephants, used creativity to create stimulating props from scratch, and maintaining a healthy environment for the elephants. After a one week training I became a team lead and guided my team through the daily tasks. I was responsible for task allocation, time management, organization and motivation of the team and general management of the team. Show less
