  Worked at Cooper Nuclear Station in the Electrical Design Engineering Department.Drafted and verified motor operated valve electrical schematics. Provided support on miscellaneous projects. Tasked with CAP (Corrective Action Program) item resolution and closure. This consisted of issue investigation, document research (including design drawings and design basis documentation), formulating a solution, field verification and closure documentation. By the end of my Co-op term I was responsible for closure of 85% of the drawing related CAP items for the department. Provided outage support in the form of engineering troubleshooting assistance. Specifically, during the refueling outage the Reactor Building Crane had a critical failure of the control system. I was selected as part of the multidisciplinary troubleshooting team and supported the effort by providing design documents and circuit analysis. Ultimately the problem was traced to the failure of two digital encoders on the main rotor that sensed and delivered payload height and speed. Show less

Currently maintains unescorted access at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station.COMMERCIAL NUCLEAR POWER EXPERIENCE:Worked on the MSO (Multiple Spurious Operations) analysis for the nuclear power stations at Byron and Braidwood, Dresden, Clinton, Quad Cities and Three Mile Island,. This work includes systems, electrical, and operational analysis of all safe shutdown equipment and procedures. These analyses involve evaluating all MSO scenarios for Byron and Braidwood, identifying discrepancies in the current safe shutdown analysis, and developing resolution strategies to mitigate the MSO scenarios.Was involved in a site-wide fire alarm upgrade design for Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station. Responsible for providing design and design inputs for the re-wiring existing fire alarm control panels and mounting of new panels and modules to be interfaced with existing components. I provide on-site support for this project on a weekly basis.ntlyWorked on Peach Bottom Unit 2 and 3 battery discharging models. Utilized ETAP to model a complex center tapped 125 VDC battery bank. Had to model the 250VDC motor loads and convert to a 125 VDC equivalent load. Ran multiple scenarios with different coping procedures to come up with coping times for the plant. Show less
