  As a teaching assistant, I was responsible for attending class, relearning and teaching principles, holding office hours, grading assignments, and answering student questions. I often collaborated with other teaching assistants and professors. At one time, I was asked to be in a smaller group of TAs to review and assess new learning materials and help decide which materials would be most beneficial for students. In winter semester of 2018, I was also working as an online TA for the BYU Salt Lake Center. This required online correspondence with the students and professor, as well as additional grading. After I graduated from BYU, I was no longer eligible for work in this position, but I was asked by my supervisors, who thought I had another year of school, if I would be interested in working as the lead-TA. I felt honored that they recognized that I was prepared for heightened responsibility. Helping to teach a nutrition course instilled in me a strong belief in the importance of healthy eating and nutrition education in underserved and vulnerable populations. Show less

  >1 year project involving mapping extant data, harmonizing existing data from 7 research cohorts with ECHO instruments. Working closely with 600+ instruments in various domains of research and creating custom forms for increased data inclusion. Developed codebooks and worked with existing datasets for collaborative research consortium. Planned and executed remote biospecimen collection.
