      To provide accurate and detailed research about current and potential donors to evaluate the capacity and propensity of potential donors to support Loughborough University. To maintain accurate research on current and potential donors, working pro-actively to ensure the University remains informed about key supporters, and to prepare briefing materials and biographies in advance of meetings and events organised by Marketing and Advancement or other sections of the University.1. To work with Marketing and Advancement staff in identifying potential donors, including pro-actively screening alumni and other possible supporters. Evaluating the capacity for potential and current donors to support the University.  2. To provide research on high net worth individuals, companies and trusts in order to inform strategy when interacting with these funding sources. 3. To deliver timely, accurate and comprehensive prospect research reports and updates as required.  4. Overseeing and managing the flow of prospect research, including setting priorities and the management of information. 5. To take responsibility for the systems and processes surrounding prospect research and evaluation, ensuring the processes meet the operational and strategic requirements of the department.  6. To undertake due diligence on individuals and organisations to create an ethical profile of funding sources to support the work of the University's Ethics Committee. Show less My role included:1.To undertake the financial processes for Loughborough University Development Trust (LUDT). Including: • Banking, processing and monitoring of one-off and regular charitable donations • Lead liaison with nominated banks regarding electronic processing of donations received via Direct Debit and associated BACS transfers• Production and timely receipt of charitable funds and sponsorship through invoicing• Balancing and reconciliation of accounts on monthly and yearly basis• Coordinating the distribution of charitable funds raised• Coordinating the administration and processing of Gift Aid declarations and tax reclaims, keeping abreast of changes concerning tax status and Gift Aid according to HMRC guidelines.2.To produce quarterly reports on LUDT for the University’s Finance Committee (balance sheet and income and expenditure account).3.To complete the annual LUDT Report and Financial Statement and oversee the annual LUDT audit.4. To keep up to date with new financial and banking systems as required, both by law and by the University, and ensure that all DARO staff are aware of financial procedures.5.To assist the University’s donor stewardship plan by producing timely, appropriate acknowledgement letters in response to gifts received and accurately maintaining data detailing the full record of donor transactions and relationships.6. To provide excellent customer service when communicating with individual donors and when responding to enquiries and requests for information from donors and potential supporters.7.To produce monthly reports for DARO outlining progress against key performance indicators and other management reports as agreed with line manager.8.To monitor and review spending of philanthropic income and to facilitate the timely transfer of funds by liaising with the Director of Development, other key DARO staff and contacts in the wider University community as appropriate.
