      Jan 1982 - Jun 1990
Drilling Engineer, Operations Engineer, Reservoir Engineer

RESERVOIR ENGINEER (1988 – 1990) Responsible for reservoir management, production surveillance and development of East Texas oil fields including the Hawkins Oil Field. Selected drill well locations, identified additional completion and workover intervals from log analyses and proposed reservoir management projects for heavy oil production and water/steam injection. Daily production surveillance engineering using analytical and empirical techniques including decline curve analysis, material balance modeling, and inflow/outflow analysis.OPERATIONS ENGINEER (1985 – 1987) Managed the day-to-day operations of major asset fields including Conroe, Tomball and Anahuac, working in the Conroe Field as the field operations engineer. Estimated and monitored the costs/profitability of workover programs, wrote completion procedures, artificial lift optimizations and designed stimulation techniques. DRILLING ENGINEER (1982 – 1984) Responsible for planning and designing oil and gas wells in East Texas and onshore and offshore Gulf Coast Regions. Monitored the drilling phase of the well with on-site engineering consulting, providing real time engineering solutions to problems. Show less

    • Netherland, Sewell & Associates

      Jun 1990 - Dec 2010
      Contract Reservoir Engineer

Prepared thousands of reserve valuations in accordance with SEC and SPE reserves estimation guidelines. Reserve and economic analyses included exploration, development, acquisition and divestiture opportunities located throughout major basins in the United States, both onshore and offshore. Performed multiple engineering studies for secondary recovery projects, field development drilling and for coal bed methane gas fields. Utilized deterministic and probabilistic methodologies including analogy studies, decline analysis, material balance and volumetric analysis for reserve determinations of both developed and undeveloped assets classified from proved, probable to possible.Maximized client opportunities by identifying upside potential and quantifying risks. Performed engineering due diligence via data rooms and interpretation of third party reports. Analyzed lease operating statements for revenue versus expenses to precisely model the cost drivers and project cash flowstreams. Show less

    • Independent Reservoir Engineering Consultant

      Jun 1990 - Jun 1991
      Reservoir Engineer

Published annual reserve reports for United Trans Western, Inc. and Waggoner Exploration, Inc. for both tax and financial institution purposes. Provided professional guidance and recommendations for managing client’s portfolio assets including workovers and completions inclusive of engineering support and AFE proposals. Estimated reserves and value for various oil and gas auction properties and successfully bid at live auctions on Oklahoma and Texas oil and gas wells.

    • Rosewood Resources, Inc.

      Jun 2010 - Apr 2016
      Senior Reservoir Engineer

      • Managed the economic and reservoir evaluation of over 2,000 assets located in Colorado, Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, North Dakota and Utah. Analyzed and maintained production forecasts, reserve estimates, recompletions and drill well timing for budgets. Prepared quarterly reserve reports and oversaw the budgeting database of all company wells (OBO and operated) for internal and equity determinations. Reduced cost of external reserves valuations with third party consultant by over 50%. • Quantified company workover opportunities, behind pipe reserves and undeveloped locations, increasing company proved value by over 20%.• Actively participated in the development and assessment of joint venture opportunities, including divestiture analysis of working and mineral interests. • Valued potential lease and/or producing property acquisitions in the Eagleford, Permian Basin and Delaware Basin for formal bids and unsolicited offers. • Developed a systematic methodology using key economic drivers to quickly quantify value of potential lease acquisitions for unconventional development, reducing the review-to-offer process time by over 50%. • Evaluated reserves and performed economic/risk analysis on over 150 capital drilling project AFE’s. Presented recommendations at the corporate board level for both company and family trust interests. Projects included locations in Louisiana (Wilcox and Haynesville), Oklahoma (Woodford, Hunton), North Dakota (Bakken, Three Forks) and Midland Basin, Texas (Spraberry, Wolfcamp). Show less
