  Whilst waiting to go to university I worked for three and a half months at the above restaurant. This was a full-time job and I lived on the premises. My duties included working as front of house, behind the bar, waitressing and cleaning. This involved pouring drinks, taking orders and delivering food to customers in the restaurant. I was also given the responsibility of cashing up at the end of the shift.

  Part time job working in a small diner on the University Campus as front of house, behind the bar, preparing food, waitressing and cleaning. This very hands on and busy job involved working as a dynamic, small team all performing various tasks.

  Twala Trust Animal Sanctuary

  Volunteer

  Volunteered at this sanctuary for a week, preparing food for all the animals, cleaning the enclosures and helping out with the daily tasks. This also included working at the clinic where we would prepare and hand out food to over two hundred dogs brought in by their owners from the nearby township as well as assisting with vaccinating and giving them deworming tablets. During my week here I was also lucky enough to have the opportunity to observe one of the vets perform spaying and castrations on a few of the dogs. Show less

  An incredible week assessing the health (coral vs algal cover) of the coral reefs in San Salvador. Further exploration included the possible use of mangroves and seagrass beds as nursery habitats by juvenile fish.
