      Vice-President Internal

-Co-organized and ran 'Orientation Week' spanning three days for over 400 incoming first-years with a cash flow of over $16,000-Co-organized and ran Engineering Week, an interdepartmental competition of over 30 events over eight days with approximately 200 students participating-Organized and ran various ceremonies and banquets for 600 graduating seniors-Ran meetings and solicited participation for the various committees of the VP Internal portfolio-Interviewed candidates for various executive and committee chair positions in the EUS-Solicited funding and sponsorship requests for the events in the VP Internal portfolio-Reported to weekly Executive Council meetings, biweekly EUS Council meetings, and daily office hours-Fulfilled other executive responsibilities for the EUS, which represents over 2,500 engineering students--The VP Internal is undoubtedly one of the biggest sources of spirit and dedication on the exec team. This individual has the lofty goal of co-ordinating over a dozen committees and offering them help in terms of referring important contacts, T-Shirt printings, event promoting, and helping teams when they are scrambling to get all their work done at the last minute. A big part of the job is to aid in the channelling of requests from committees to the other members of the executive committee. The VP Internal has historically been a huge enthusiast in terms of going to EUS events and is someone who loves to work with people. Besides the responsibility inside of the EUS, the VP Internal also deals heavily with the SSMU executive and the other faculty student associations on campus. Not only rewarding in terms of achieving multilple goals throughout the year, the VP Internal has the best chance at working hard to recruit new committee's and to "pass the torch" to the earlier years as he/she will know just about everyone in engineering by year's end.Source: http://mcgilleus.ca/executives/vpinternal Show less
