    • Richmond Ambulance Authority

      Jan 2023 - May 2023
      Emergency Medical Technician - Basic

I worked closely with paramedics and other healthcare professionals to perform basic life-saving measures on patients in the greater Richmond area. I learned about prioritizing the documentation of patient information and history alongside patient care. I also received my EVOC certification and learned about ambulatory vehicle operations in emergent and non-emergent settings.

      Jan 2023 - May 2023
      Preceptor - Chemistry 101

Instructor: Ruth TopichI led class activities and helped students acknowledge their strengths and weaknesses in topics related to general chemistry. I applied the knowledge I acquired in a teaching environment to improve students' understanding of concepts such as thermodynamics and bonding theory. Through my experience as a preceptor, I've learned that being a good leader requires patience, communication, and the ability to inspire others.

    • Virginia Institute for Psychiatric and Behavioral Genetics

      Jun 2023 - May 2024
      Clinical Research Assistant

I work with the participants of the study during the CO2 task and help with the setup of the PASAT and MTT. This includes handling the CO2 Mask, attaching EKG, Skin Conductance, and other sensors to the participant. I also help the Study Coordinator conduct a variety of tasks including: cleaning the lab equipment, assisting in contacting and coordinating lab visits, sitting in on Zoom clinical interviews, participating in weekly meetings, and reading pertinent literature to stay updated on different aspects of the study. • Old Dominion University

      Jun 2023 - Aug 2023
      Research Mentee

I participated in the 2023 Remote Experience for Young Engineers and Scientists (REYES) program. I was paired with researchers from across the globe to work on a research project and also had the opportunity to attend lectures pertaining to STEM-H subjects. I worked in a ML-CSM Lab on a project dealing with the cancer cell atlas using genomic data for Triple Negative Breast Cancer. We believe that precise prediction of the treatment response in TNBC patients can help optimize the surgery strategy and patient outcomes. In this project, I worked with other team members to develop machine learning models that predict patient treatment response from data of diverse modalities, including clinical information, medical images, and pathology slides. I assisted the researchers in the laboratory by conducting a literature review and performing a differential analysis. Our aim was to identify the genes that were differentially expressed (DEGs) in specific TNBC samples compared to the normal ones. Show less

As a research leader in the Dream Lab, my role involves leading our investigative efforts into the fascinating world of dreams. From designing research protocols to overseeing data collection and analysis, I guide our team through every step of the process. I collaborate closely with our Principal Investigator to delve into different aspects of a dream, drawing from the insights of renowned theorists like Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, and Calvin Hall. Together, we aim to uncover the patterns and shifts of the subconscious mind and shed light on the psychological and emotional landscapes hidden within our dreams. Show less

      Dec 2023 - May 2024
      Teaching Assistant

The first-year course Flourishing examines the state of college student mental health and wellness on a personal and systems level. It provides an opportunity for students to re-evaluate their beliefs, values and assumptions, and to do so in the context of learning about the science behind health and wellness. Key findings from the fields of positive psychology will inform students’ understanding of the biopsychosocial underpinnings of well-being.
