      Scholarship Student

Conducted two independent drug discovery projects related to cancer research in the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology. In the first project I used peptide-based phage display technology to screen for peptide binders of oncogenic miRNA. The aim of this project was to identify specific binders of certain oncogenic miRNAs and to develop these into epigenetic compound tools that could help further investigation of these miRNAs, and potentially develop biopharmaceuticals using peptidomimetics. In the second project I screened in-house-developed small molecules for their effect in multi-resistant colorectal and prostate cancer cell lines, using MTT cell viability and proliferation assays.
