I have applied my interest in human biology and physiology to study a broad range of topics including cancer biology, cellular signalling, and musculoskeletal and gastrointestinal disease. During my final year research project, I gained experience of working in a professional research setting through an 8-week placement in the Bob Champion Research and Education Building Laboratory. I learnt to employ cell culture and laboratory techniques, such as aseptic technique, ALP staining and PCR which I used to investigate osteogenic differentiation in mesenchymal stem cells. Through researching and writing my final project report, I gained confidence in data-analysis and working independently. Show less
