      Research Assistant

      Brennan worked under Dr. Townsend in the University's Solid and Hazardous Waste Department research lab, analyzing bottom and fly ash from several Florida coal-fired power plants for applications as asphalt aggregate. His primary responsibilities included conducting TLCP and STLC testing to analyze ash samples for potential leaching characteristics. The leachate results were successful and roadways in nearby Putnam County were constructed using the ash as an asphalt aggregate.

      Brennan worked under a senior project manager in JEA's Water and Wastewater Department to assist in the management of several projects during the summer of 2014. His primary responsibilities included asset management of existing wastewater infrastructure and monitoring the progression of several construction projects at JEA's 52.0 MGD Buckman Wastewater Treatment Plant, including hydrogen sulfide removal upgrades, grit chamber expansion, and sludge holding tank improvements.

      Brennan has served as a junior engineer in CDM Smith's Jacksonville office for over 3.5 years. He has been involved in several water, wastewater, and solid waste projects ranging from designing the expansion of Miami's 285 MGD South District WWTP to updating a comprehensive water management plan for the state of Georgia. He has experience designing several municipal water treatment plants, 2,000+ gpm production wells, and submersible lift stations in Northeast Florida.

      Brennan designed civil site grading and utilities for new residences in Teton County, WY. He sized septic systems and placed buried utilities according to Teton County Standards. He completed a fire flow analysis for the Town of Jackson (ToJ) and updated the ToJ water/wastewater capacity forecast through 2025.
