      Coordinating and serving 900+ volunteers through four local fundraising campaigns across the state. Staff leader to three special events through the leadership of local community chairs and committees. Focused on growing operating funds of the Lincoln Heritage Council, including Friends of Scouting (FOS) annual campaign ($1.6 million), special events ($476K), donor cultivation, United Ways, and grant writing.1. Helps to organize and maintain effective statewide or local, if applicable, coalitions and partnerships that address AARP’s strategic issues.2. In coordination with local AARP volunteers and the AARP Kentucky team, works to develop, expand and sustain AARP Kentucky’s Livable/Age Friendly Communities efforts within the state.3. Plans and executes integrated advocacy campaigns that include mobilization of grassroots activists, engaging key contacts, lobbying, community organizing, policy formulation and analysis, to support AARP Kentucky’s legislative goals at the state and national level.4. Provides leadership to volunteers in a shared effort to build an effective organization of self-directed and active volunteers to favorably impact AARP public policy at the state and national level.5. Builds and maintains strong, productive relationships with Members of Congress, MOC district staff, state and local elected officials and maintains a non-partisan stance with respect to candidates, incumbents, political parties and public events.6. Represents AARP before policy makers and those who promulgate rules and regulations in the state. Focuses on active engagement and involvement of volunteers and members who are impacted by the issue at hand. In consultation with Communications, informs members and the public on issues of concern to AARP, including voter education and advocacy on both state and federal issues.7.
