      Elected to this role, I represented members in disciplinary proceedings and employment tribunals, ensuring fairness of process and adherence to all legal compliance requirements. At the core of my role was the requirement to inform, negotiate and influence effectively to the benefit of officers and the organisation. I presented mitigation on behalf of officers and advised on grievances and equality and employment legislation. I demonstrated exceptional communicator skills; presenting oral and written evidence that influenced outcomes and delivered meaningful support for officers facing critical career and, in some cases, life defining decisions by disciplinary panels. Remaining consistently up to date with evolving information and legislation, I became a subject matter expert around unsatisfactory performance and misconduct issues. Applying this knowledge to support the needs and ambitions of those being represented and guide the application of censure.In addition, at times of intense demand, I also served on an ad-hoc basis to support emergency call handling; managing a team of police officers and staff.
