  Senior Federal Government Lawyer

  Worked full time as senior federal government lawyer at multiple agencies, including U.S. Agency for International Development, National Archives, Small Business Administration, Department of Treasury and Army lawyer, i.e., JAGC. Army legal assignments included details to Department of Justice (Special Assistant U.S. Attorney) and Office of General Counsel, Department of Defense (Caspar Weinberger's legal staff). For the last 10 years of my federal legal career I was a senior counsel to Inspectors General. In this capacity I provided legal advice and representation to elite teams of auditors and criminal investigators fighting government waste and fraud. Considered a leading expert in this area, earning multiple awards from peers, including Career Achievement Award.Despite managing busy legal caseload, consistently and effectively advocated for better government use of technology, including knowledge management, social media, blogs, Internet mailing lists and innovative training using technology.Guest speaker at three U.S. Office of Government Ethics Worldwide Conferences. Moderated 2010 ABA Government and Public Lawyers Division national CLE teleconference on Inspector General law and was featured speaker in same organization's 2011 teleconference on social media for government lawyers. For three years co-authored a monthly LLRX.com column with Dennis Kennedy on lawyer marketing entitled "The Internet Roundtable."Gave multiple presentations for ABA Techshow and many other national, state and local lawyer groups, including ALI-ABA, Legal Tech New York, American Association of Law Libraries, Virginia CLE, Michigan CLE and Pennsylvania CLE.Featured in training videos for ALI-ABA and Trialnet, then the most successful intranets-for-lawyers company.Designed two law firm websites, including all HTML coding and graphics.Put these activities on hold in 2004 to concentrate on federal lawyer career.
