  ALC was established by the American Mission in 1968 and is Nepal’s oldest and first English language institute. The American Language Center and the USEF were under the same wing until the American Government decided to stop funding the English program in Nepal in 1998 and hence ALC got privatized. For the past 53 years, we have been at the forefront of providing English language and Communication instruction from the Native Speakers. We primarily work with adults and teens, though we do offer some immersive children’s classes. Our methodology emphasizes a wide range of English language skills to encourage fluency and situational competency — including general education courses, tailored business and communication training and conversational practice. To guarantee our students have a one-stop center that meets their needs, ALC also offers personalized preparation for job and visa interviews and English Test preparation courses like PTE, IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo and SAT exams.Beside English Courses we have the Study Abroad Program, which I am in charge. The program supports and assist students with international undergrad and graduate programs. In a year, 40,000–60,000 Nepali students apply to bachelor’s and master’s programs worldwide.
