May 2019 - Sept 2019Student DeveloperProvided an API for different programming languages to load/unload firmware, communicate with the Programmable Realtime Units (PRUs) and start/stop them from Linux User Space using the RemoteProc, RPMsg drivers. PRUs are low-latency, deterministic microcontrollers which are 2 additional 32-bit RISC cores on the BeagleBone computer. Also wrote PRU firmware programs to demonstrate the use of the API (for example: accurately controlling a stepper motor).
