  After 23 years as an Architectural Designer, I was offered a move within the company to oversee CAD operations, which included developing standards for use with Revit, AutoCAD and Microstation, as well as assist in the in-house IT Department as a technician. The IT position involved all types of work from hardware/software issues on workstations and laptops, problems with installations and methods, and working on server/switches in the data center and deploying VM's for off-site employees. I also installed projector/television equipment for conference room use, and typically involved in most decisions regarding technology purchases. My job is to cover as many bases as possible, and learning what needs to be done while doing so. Show less Starting as a drafter, both traditional by hand and using CAD systems, worked on multiple projects before leading my own projects for more than 15 years. During that time I traveled and met with clients, consultants and government representatives on projects that ranged in size from small re-models to complete shopping centers, where I would lead the team from design through construction, developing both documents for construction and handling coordination between all architectural and engineering disciplines and then handling construction issues when and if they arose Show less
