  Junior Associate Workforce Nutrition Strengthening Nutrition in Priority Staples

  Strengthening Nutrition in Priority Staples (SNIPS) is a project implemented by The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), a Swiss-based Foundation in partnership with the Green Innovation Centre for the Agricultural and Food Sectors (GIC) being delivered in Nigeria by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The SNIPS Project focuses on the integration of activities to support the GIC in Nigeria to strengthen priority value chains and improve food and nutrition security through improved diets for farmers, farm workers, other workers in businesses in the maize, cassava, rice, and orange-fleshed sweet potato value chains, and among the wider population in Nigeria, which is delivered through three components: Biofortification, Workforce Nutrition, and Business Support. The objectives of the SNIPS Project include:▪︎Increased consumption of safe, nutritious foods by smallholder farmers, their families, and the wider population. ▪︎Strengthened cassava, maize, sweet potato, and rice value chains in Nigeria which provide more, safe nutritious foods to consumers. ▪︎Increased use of nutritious varieties of the target staples in processed foods. ▪︎ Improved productivity & efficiency of farmers and other businesses to improve the production of safe, nutritious foods in the cassava, maize, sweet potato, and rice value chains.
