  I am currently a logistics analyst in the inbound transportation department. I consolidate shipments in a given area in order to save money and reduce mileage. I am responsible for the Western half of the country, Ohio, and all of Dollar Tree's intra-Canadian shipments. I also handle shipments moving from the USA to Canada from my assigned states. I run weekly reports to determine the total numbers of backhauls that were completed the week prior and to view how many trailers are currently in cross-dock status.I communicate with vendors and carriers to ensure that shipments are getting picked up in a timely manner and I deal with issues as they arise. I also work closely with the merchandise department to ensure their purchase orders are delivered to our distribution centers on time. Show less
