  I joined Bombardier, which was contracted to build EMUs for the Gauteng province, aimed at providing and optimizing an integrated, innovative public transport system that supports and promotes long-term sustainable economic growth in Gauteng. In my role as a technician, I was responsible for validating, testing, and commissioning trains, with a particular focus on meeting the project milestone of having the trains ready for service during the World Cup, especially the Airport Line.I was also tasked with verifying failed components removed from the trains by testing and validating the failures through simulations in the lab before sending them for warranty claims.   I worked for Eskom at Arnot Power Station as a Mechanical Technician in the Platter Shop. The Platter Shop was responsible for all metallic repairs and maintenance of the plant, including the boiler, mills, piping, valves, and sewage systems. My responsibilities included planning, repair, and skills development. I led a team of 10 artisans and 12 artisan assistants, ensuring that welding and cutting consumables, as well as machinery, were consistently available and reliable for use during breakdowns and normal operations.Additionally, I managed contractors, including Stein Muller and others, during outages and boiler tube leak repairs, as well as during daily operations. I was qualified in Plant Safety Regulations (PSR) and served as the Radiation Responsible Person.
