      The responsibilities of this position were consistent with the mission of a land grant University; namely teaching, research and service. I was responsible for content development and delivery of class room and laboratory educational material for the disciplines of anesthesia, emergency medicine and critical care medicine to professional students, interns and residents. I led or assisted in training of 14 resident/graduate students who became board certified in the specialty disciplines of anesthesia, emergency/critical care medicine and surgery. I also presented over 200 continuing education talks to veterinary professionals world wide. I built and maintained an active laboratory and clinical research program in these disciplines which resulted in over 100 publications in peer reviewed journals, 40 textbook chapters and over 25 research abstract presentations at professional meetings. This program generated over $1 million in grant money from private and public sources. I had scheduled clinical service time which included call back during non regular hours. I also provided service to the University and community by serving on numerous committees and boards including professional organizations as noted elsewhere in my profile.I was also active in fund raising leading a campaign which raised over $2 million for remodeling and refurbishing the small animal intensive care unit and visiting area. Worked with key research partners and centers to design and execute research studies to complete phases I and II of FDA requirements. As part of this program, worked with engineering team on development of device design and implant tooling.       The responsibilities of this position were consistent with the mission of a land grant University; namely teaching, research and service. I was responsible for content development and delivery of class room and laboratory educational material for the disciplines of emergency medicine and critical care medicine to professional students, interns and residents. I led or assisted in training of 2 resident/graduate students who became board certified in the specialty disciplines of emergency/critical care medicine and surgery. I also presented over 20 continuing education talks to veterinary professionals world wide. In addition, I co-authored "The Veterinary ICU Book" which included over 50 authors contributing to the volume. I also had responsibility for developing the emergency/critical care program. This required development and management of section budget, staff hiring and training , and recruitment of house staff. I developed organizational structure and improved communication at all levels within the group. I was also innovative in hiring a social worker to facilitate client communications and act as a patient advocate. I had scheduled clinical service time which included call back during non regular hours. During my tenure, billable revenues grew by 500%. I also provided service to the University and community by serving on numerous committees and boards including professional organizations as noted elsewhere in my profile. Show less

      My responsibilities in this role were to develop economic data and positioning to support assigned Pfizer Animal Health products. These responsibilities required personal development of new knowledge and skills in the discipline of outcomes research including pharmacoeconomic models, PRO surveys, HRQOL instruments, use of health measurement scales, advanced statistical techniques including survival analysis, met analysis and QOL validation analysis. Part of my responsibilities required "mining" of existing data sources as well as development of new information sources where data did not exist. The role required constant communication with commercial marketing, new products marketing, research and development and veterinary operations teams. Show less I had responsibilities for daily management and professional development of veterinary specialty team members. This included tactical and strategic management including monitoring weekly activities, approval of travel and expense reports, scheduling, working with sales teams to assure successful customer experience, executing annual performance reviews and colleague development plans. My success in this capacity is noted by team members pursuing additional professional training and certification opportunities, participating in postgraduate education programs leading to a degree and being promoted to roles with increased leadership and responsibility within Pfizer Animal Health and other organizations. In addition to responsibilities associated with this position, I maintained all responsibilities as a veterinary specialist. During my tenure as a veterinary specialist and manager, I visited over 500 veterinary clinics, delivered over 25 local association CE presentations, and lectured at regional and national meetings. Responsibilities included pre visit assessment of current skill level and developing a customized training plan for each group in partnership with the sales force to meet customer needs. Follow up assessments at targeted time points evaluated change in customer behaviors and habits to determine the impact and value of the education provided. Show less
