    • Sonic Drive-In

      Feb 2010 - Aug 2012
      Carhop, Switchboard Operator and Cook

While at Sonic, I successfully learned multiple positions and stations within the establishment. As a waitress, it was my job to deliver food, make sure customers were happy and to correct any issues with orders (while on roller skates!). Working in customer service taught me how to speak to a variety of individuals and understand their emotions, doing whatever I could to solve the issue at hand - or taking that extra moment to carry a conversation.Learning to multitask and work with a team were very important lesson I learned while working in the fast food industry. The establishment as a whole had to take, make and deliver an order in less than two minutes. Communication was key - it took many individuals working as a unit to make sure orders got out on time and correctly.People tend to scoff at the idea of working in fast food, but I can honestly say it has taught me many valuable life lessons that I still use in my career today. • Michigan State Dining Halls

      Oct 2010 - Aug 2013
      Level III Student Supervisor

While attending Michigan State University, I managed the dining facilities, student positions, enforced complex policies and more to ensure that the cafeteria facilities were running smoothly. As a manager, I had to know how to work every station at each cafeteria in South Complex. My position required the constant use of leadership and people skills to work with both employees and customers.Working in the dining facilities taught me how to balance a leadership role. I was taking orders from my boss while delivering orders to those who I managed. Discovering the best way to communicate with people and asking for a task to be done without sounding controlling or demeaning is a skill that I have taken and applied to my current career. People respect you more if you talk to them and not at them, and that is a lesson I learned through watching managers works and taking in how they were speaking to me. Show less

    • SMZ Advertising

      May 2012 - Aug 2012
      Traffic Intern

During my internship with SMZ I helped send out the traffic instructions and advertisements to various media stations and publications with instructions for running the Detroit Tigers, Michigan Lottery, Fisher Theater, Taubman Malls, and other various TV and radio ads.I also assisted with setting up the company's timeline of ship dates - insuring that materials were sent in a timely manner.I wrote the Detroit Tigers Radio Disney Ads and helped edit together Tigers radio ad that ran during the Summer of 2012. I also watched and organized countless hours of sports footage that helped the team better find and pull the player and action they wanted showcased in future ads.I may not have understood it at the time, but this internship taught me that even the littlest of tasks matter for the agency as a whole. Taking the time to file that footage into an Excel sheet allowed the team to later search through their Tigers footage with ease - which saved them countless hours of going through all their clips each time an advertisement needed to be made. So what seemed like an easy and meaningless task at the time actually made a difference. No task is too small. Show less

    • Team Detroit

      Jan 2014 - Oct 2015

I worked with the Customer Relationship Management team for various Ford products and programs. With the use of Microsoft Project, I have created project plans from scratch for a team that never implemented them, which gave me the opportunity to sit down and discuss the CRM process with account, creative, production and more to ensure no steps were forgotten in the template. I followed and delved into projects from beginning to end, which is a unique aspect of my current job title. From constructing project briefs and various documents to kick-off new projects in the beginning; working to make router corrections with the team and clients during; and gaining insights on the analytic reporting of campaigns at the end - I had the opportunity to watch every project go full circle. Show less I worked with the Ford Commercial Truck, Ford and Lincoln Fleet and other various campaigns; serving as a primary communication link for all team members. I ensured advertisements were routing for edits and approvals, while working with tight timelines. Knowing all aspects of projects is essential as a Project Coordinator. I provided team members with any answers they may have about the campaign. For this job position, I worked with Microsoft Word and Excel, Ad-ID, Print Buy Toolkit, STEP, Adobe and other various programs on a daily basis.During my time as a Project Coordinator I developed processes and templates that are still used within the department today. Taking the time and effort trying to simplify and organize process really helps to save time in the future. My processes have helped train new hires and keep the account, production and media teams organized and on the same page. Having the ability to make a difference has driven me to do whatever I can to help the agency evolve. Show less I worked with Prisma, Microsoft Excel and MediaVisor to analyze sales, consumer data and client credits. Understanding what happens to an advertisement when it is done routing internally allowed me to experience the entire life of a campaign. During this internship, I took full advantage of working at a full-service agency. I interviewed over 70 individuals to understand their job role and their viewpoint on the world of advertising. I ended up shadowing some of these individuals and better understanding what they did on a day-to-day basis. For the intern project, I had the role of Account Manager for the Intern Recruitment Video that our team wrote, filmed and produced. I took on the role as an Account/Project Manager making sure team members followed timelines, and also organized work efforts to help even out the team's task load. I really learned the importance of doing whatever is possible to make sure a project runs smoothly - and making those beforehand efforts to try and prevent problems from occurring. Show less
