  June through August of 2007 and 2008. Co-director of two separate Nature Museums within Harriman State Park that are under the management of Trailside Museums and Zoo, Bear Mountain, New York. Responsibilities including the seasonal set up of the museum, care and handling of native flora and fauna, development and presentation of educational programs to camps and Park visitors and participation in events that were organized by the Park or zoo.

  Provide care to native animal species within the zoo, including cleaning, cage maintenance, preparation and delivery of diets and medications on a daily basis. Educator responsible for the development and presentation of education programs for the public and visiting groups (i.e. schools, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, clubs, group homes, etc) based on native flora/fauna, park history and the Appalachian Trail.   Responsible for the development of science-based lessons consistent with the New York State curriculum requirements. Lessons were taught as push-in education for New York City middle schools through co-teaching. During Fall and Spring seasons students would take 3-day field trips to the program's outdoor education facility located in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. Outdoor education programs were generally focused on ecology and leadership.Staff developed lessons and materials to present to their groups of approximately 12 students. Responsible for the development of Environmental Permits, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, Health and Safety Plans, Work Plans, Sediment Sampling Plans, GIS figures, Environmental Assessment Statements, Environmental Impact Statements, SPCC plans, SPDES permits for both New York and New Jersey and dredge material management plans. Additional responsibilities included assisting with wetland delineations, wetland mitigation monitoring, wildlife and plant surveys, and aquatic studies. Provide all aspects of required regulatory permitting, inspections and enforcement related to petroleum storage and use, sustainability, stormwater runoff, deicing operations, waste management and applicable local, state and federal regulations. Responsible for providing oversight and input to construction and design projects and working with onsite contractors and tenants to promote environmental awareness, sustainability and compliance.
