      Raise the Roof is a British charity empowering rural residents of Nakuru Kenya in building sustainable futures through the provision of vocational training education (Barut Youth Development and Sports Centre).My main responsibilities as a project manager were: -Ensuring student enrollment in the vocational training institution. -The link between the Ministry of Youth and Gender Affairs, donors, the vocational training institution and the community.-Partnership development.-Marketing of the institution.-Monitoring and evaluation of project activities.-Connecting students to several entrepreneurial organizations for their internships and job placements. -Follow-ups on students upon graduation on their job progress.-Proposal writing for funding requests.-Coordinating trainings on income-generating activities to the wider community of Barut, Nakuru.       Raise Her Voice is a sister project to Raise the Roof, Kenya. It is a community-based organization that aims to empower women and girls in society through income-generating projects. The organization also works with women in Barut community to produce washable sanitary towels to enable girls not to miss a day of school. My role was working together with the community manager in order to ensure that this goal is achieved.
