  During my eight years at the Academy I taught AP biology, honors biology, general biology, zoology, honors chemistry, general chemistry, astronomy, and forensic science. During the six years I taught AP biology my student scoring average increased ever year. In my final year at FJA all 38 of my AP biology students scored a 3 or better with 8 students earning 5's, 20 students earning 4's, and 10 students earning 3's.In addition to my teaching duties, I served as both the science department chair and new teacher mentor. As department chair I made I planned and facilitated weekly department meetings, set department goals, developed unified department teaching standards, made monthly observations of teachers in my department, and managed the ordering of supplies and department budget. As a new teacher mentor I met with my mentee weekly, made classroom observations, and helped develop my mentee's teaching practice. Show less
