      Collaborator/researcher in the project “Effects of low-frequency sound irradiation in tissues”, held byFaculty of Engineering and ICBAS (Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar) both of University ofPorto. In this project I prepared tissue samples (Sirius Red histological staining) from rodents after noise exposure, with or without stress inhibitors. The samples were analysed through optical microscopy. The differences between groups where quantified by image quantification using Image J software.       ERASMUS internship at Heidelberg University (Germany) in the IZN (Interdisciplinary center for neurosciences) group. In this training, I wished to assess how the biogenic amine octopamine exerts its strong modulation effect on the endogenous motor pattern in D. melanogaster. In this project I have done larval fillet preparations for electrophysiological recordings and functional imaging, in vivo intracellular current clamp recordings of muscle membrane potentials, in vivo calcium imaging in defined octopaminergic neurons with simultaneous membrane potential recordings and genetic manipulation of Drosophila larvae.Developed lab techniques:- D. melanogaster maintenance- Larval fillet preparations- in vivo intracellular current clamp recordings of muscle membrane potentials- in vivo imagingFinal grade of research training: 20/20 Show less

      Master thesis in “Nanobiomaterials For Targeted Therapies” research group. I have worked with the goal to develop and implement an innovative dynamic in vitro model of the blood-brain barrier in stroke. The final aim of the model was to quantify the crossing of nanoparticles (dendrimers) through the barrier and determine the possible toxicity they could cause on the cells. As a control, a static model of blood-brain barrier was also implemented using Transwell“. The results of the thesis were published in the Journal of Controlled Release.Developed lab techiniques:- Cell culture (cell line and primary cells)- Immunocytochemistry- Confocal imaging- Spectrophotometry- Transendothelial Electrical Resistance (TEER)Final Grade: 19/20 Show less

      As a quality assurance analyst, I am responsible for detecting and ensuring the correction of bugs on the developed Software. To this end, I design, execute and document scenarios and test cases, using tools such as Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), Xray, JIRA and Confluence. Since I have started, I detected over 800 bugs and created more than 1800 case tests, which improved the product stability and quality.
