  Boot camp lasted just over two months, and later, I completed six months of training in Pensacola, Florida. During the training, our mornings began at 4 a.m. three times a week. We would run and exercise for two hours before sitting in a classroom for nine hours. It was intensive training to say the least.I held many positions in the Navy but always had a knack for finding myself in a leadership position. I logged and accounted for an entire squadron's tools, supervised peers who were responsible for the integrity of multiple aircraft, worked on electronics in all sorts of environmental conditions, and supervised the cleaning efforts of a mess deck on an aircraft carrier. I was in charge of 20 people at once, yet I also worked alone, unsupervised. I've seen the world and experienced multiple perspectives. Although the Navy was difficult at times, joining was one of the best decisions I made in life. Show less
