Director of EM facility and Public Tech&Service Center, IPS CAS

  • Education

    • 中山大学

      2000 - 2004
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Applied and pure Mechanics A

Activities and Societies: First-class national excellent student once. Third-class excellent student twice. Excellent thesis prize once. My first high-education degree. I learned a lot of Mathematics and Mechanics courses, and several computer science courses. My thesis paper about the simulation of a current in a 3D channel was an excellent thesis.

    • 中山大学

      2004 - 2006
Master of Science (M.S.) Biophysics A

Activities and Societies: Structural study of viral capsid using cryo-EM Single-particle method. Excellent thesis in Biophysics. Graduated from Prof. Jingqiang Zhang's lab (张景强实验室) I changed my major from Mechanics to Life Science. After 2 years study, I got a general knowledge of Biology and got fluent in using transmission electron microscope. More specifically, I got much experience of cryo-EM single-particle 3-dimensional reconstruction. My thesis about the capsid structure of a virus is a excellent thesis paper in Biophysics.

    • Florida State University

      2007 - 2014
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Molecular Biophysics A

Activities and Societies: Fluent in biological specimen preparation, transmission electron microscope, and data processing President/Treasurer of Badminton club at FSU I'm pursuing my Ph.D degree. My projects are using cryo-Electron Microscopy to study the structure of cytoskeleton and associated proteins, such as Myosin II/Myosin V. I graduated from Dr. Kenneth A. Taylor's lab at FSU.

      Jul 2004 - Jul 2007
      Research Assistant

Biological specimen preparation, EM data collection, and data processing (Mainly Single-particle 3D Reconstruction)

    • Florida State University

      Aug 2011 - Aug 2014

Structural study of cytoskeleton and associated proteins, such as Myosin II and Myosin VBiological specimen preparation, cryo-EM data collection, and data processing. Worked as a Teaching Assistant at Department of Biology, FSU. In the first semester I worked as TA for a professor, help him grade homework/exams and hold a review session to answer questions from students. In the second semester I taught a lab course myself, lecturing, guiding experiments, answering question, and grading.
